Momma Bear's Fishing Lesson, Bear with cub wire sculpture made with 16 gauge steel wire
This sweet scene of a mother bear feeding her bear cub is a minimal wire sculpture made with steel wire and attached to the unique driftwood base shown in the photo.

Wire is a unique art medium, and sculpting with wire allows me to define a form and imply movement as each sculpture becomes a dynamic drawing in space. I avoid the use of paints and solvents and I try to reuse packing/shipping materials. It is my hope that my work reflects my love of the natural world and that my methods are kind to the environment as well.
Because I sculpt with steel wire, this piece is not rust-proof. Personally, I enjoy the rust patina, but if you prefer to protect your piece from rust, a light coating of clear spray varnish may be applied.
